Flexology's Director Shelley Snelson, shared her thoughts with Recruitment Grapevine.....

Flexology are hoping to help those wavering candidates, empowering them to walk in with their heads held high upon their return to work.

Through their newly launched Returnship Programme, which will be rolled out over the next few months in partnership with businesses in the South West, Flexology is helping workers to gain experience, refreshing both their skills and confidence.

Speaking to Recruitment Grapevine, Snelson explains more about the three month paid programme: “For those looking for a new role after a period of absence, we offer a complimentary CV review and mock interviews, regardless of whether a role they are applying for is advertised through us.”

When asked why it was important to Flexology to help those returning to work. She says that a lack of confidence in returning to the workplace is contributing to the reduced representation of women in senior roles.

“Employers often do not offer enough support for employees who are returning to work after an extended absence,” she adds. “They do not always conduct full ’back to work’ interviews or plan the return sufficiently.

“However, there are numerous skills gaps that businesses are competing to fill. We know from our own research that individuals with these skills are often exiting the market following a career break, changing path onto a lesser skilled role due to lack of confidence, support and understanding of their ability.”
