Our client is a charity that offers a range of high quality services to adults with life limiting illnesses and their families and carers. Income to support the charity is generated through a wide range of sources including fundraising and shops. It employs over 460 staff that work across over 50 sites and in the community.
About the role
The main purpose of this role is to manage and implement a programme of change; making a significant difference to finance and the wider Charity
This will involve working within the small finance team on a programme of change initiatives that will deliver value for the business through transformation of the finance systems and processes.
You will deliver increased efficiency and effectiveness of processes leading to provision of better information, faster delivery of reports, a greatly improved user experience and enhanced buy in. The required changes include the automation of processes, system assessments and improvements and reviewing and redesigning accounting processes.
The post holder will be required to project-manage small projects or work packages within larger programmes to implement solutions. Projects may involve several teams and functions as well as technical input.
More about you
We are looking for someone with strong bookkeeping and accounting experience, most likely a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). You should also have experience of finance transformation/improvement projects from inception to delivery, as happy rolling your sleeves up on the delivery as with the planning and stakeholder management. In addition, you will be a people person, happy to engage all stakeholders and take them with you through the change process.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Finance change/transformation experience
- Experience delivering finance process improvements and systems implementations
- Excellent skills in Microsoft applications - word, excel, outlook
- strong accounting & book-keeping skills
- Strong stakeholder management with all levels
‘Nice to have’ experience;
- Accountancy qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Project management training
- Charity / not for profit experience
