HR and Recruitment Assistant - Legal Services

A fantastic chance to join our client's HR team as a Recruitment Assistant, reporting to the Recruitment Manager in their Bristol harbourside office.  This would suit someone with sourcing experience in a recruitment agency or with marketing and social media experience.

The client are looking for someone to work 3 or 4 days a week, they can accommodate school hours or one day a week working from home, salary is £25,000 FTE (pro rated for hours worked)

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to use initiative, and to plan ahead

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to balance priorities

  • Creative writing style, and experience of a variety of social media platforms

  • Experience with direct sourcing /headhunting candidates

  • Knowledge and awareness of recruitment best practice


  • Recruiting experience gained from a professional services/ legal environment would be preferable

As part of this, we are looking for a Recruitment Assistant to join us, and to focus on getting our message out to candidates in improved our Employer Brand. Working closely with the Recruitment Manager, HR& Recruitment Advisor, Recruitment Administrator and Marketing Team, the successful candidate will be involved with directly sourcing candidates, improving candidate journey, and maintaining our social media presence.

This role would suit somebody looking to enhance their recruitment skills, by working in a busy and professional HR environment.  This role is offered on a 12 month FTC basis, and we would welcome applications from candidates looking to work on a p/t or flexible basis.  You must have experience within a recruitment setting, and have a creative writing style.

The HR team work closely together so a flexible approach to tasks and effective communication within the team are essential for success.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive HR team, to make a difference, and to utilise a number of your skills.

Key tasks will include:

  • General Recruitment

  • Advertising vacancies

  • Directly sourcing candidates

  • Interviewing/screening candidates

  • Building relationships with candidates in the local market

  • Demonstrating an excellent knowledge of all current vacancies and stages

  • Attending departmental meetings/lunchtime seminars to increase knowledge of work in our sectors

  • Reporting on the recruitment market in all office locations

  • Promoting best practice, including the use of Recruitment Authorisation Forms, Interview Assessment Forms, and Interview Questions

  • Attending careers/law fairs where required

  • Assisting with the design and running of Assessment Days, and  our Trainee recruitment process

  • Supporting the Recruitment Administrator with administrative tasks where appropriate/ to cover periods of absence.  Tasks may include; working with the Applicant Tracking Systems (Cascade/Apply4Law), arranging interviews, corresponding with candidates, updating spreadsheets, and processing invoices

  • Supporting the Recruitment Manager with project work

Working in collaboration with the Marketing team to;

  • Develop the Careers section of the website/Cascade by populating content and developing appropriate tone (e.g interviews with employees/blogs/videos)

  • Create/maintain social media platforms (e.g Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Glassdoor & Instagram)

  • Promote best practice of social media, being able to offer training to others where required

  • Promote our involvement with CSR activity
